Commercial Fire Protection
Commercial fire protection can be accomplished by installing smoke and rate of rise heat sensors throughout a building. Duct smoke detectors connected to HVAC systems can sense for smoke and alert of a possible fire. Sprinkler systems are monitored by sensing water flow conditions created by fire. ProAlert Security Systems can design and prepare drawings for Building and Fire Department permit process if required. ProAlert Security Systems has design personal with NICET level IV certification. The fire portion of your system is always on and works independent of arming or disarming of the security system. ProAlert also provides annual testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA.
What is NICET?
The National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) is an organization that was established in 1961 to create a
recognized certification for engineering technicians and technologist within the United States. NICET is a not for profit division of the National Society of Professional Engineers. There are four levels in the fire alarm protection category of NICET. ProAlert has staff personnel at the fourth level. This is the highest level and is a senior design level certification. In order to be certified at level IV an applicant must have ten years or more of experience, worked in a senior level on a major project and pass all required testing elements in levels I, II and III. It is not unusual to wait up to five years or more to obtain this level once your ten years of experience have been obtained. NICET is very well respected by design Architects and Engineers as well as Building and Fire Inspectors at all levels in Government. Please visit www.nicet.org for additional information.
